We’ll visit the most beautiful views of these “Five Hamlets” built into the sheer rocky coast, a small strip of roughly edged mountains dropping sharply into the sea. In Roman times the city was essentially a fishing community, and in the centuries that followed, Portovenere became the base of the Byzantine fleet in the northern Tyrrhenian Sea. A group walk through Portovenere and some free time, while watching local families, children, adults, interact in daily activities of simple, but extraordinary life. Enjoy some free time to explore its shops and “food boutiques”, along with wine bars and gelaterias. Originally founded by the Della Gherardesca Counts who still own much of the surrounding lands today, as well as the Castle at the top of the town, Castagneto took on the second name “Carducci” in honor of Giosue’ Carducci, an Italian poet and author who lived here, the first Italian to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1906.
Enjoy a group lunch in a local favorite trattoria with traditional home-made dishes and crostini with mixed toppings.
We'll then drive to a local winery for a private tour and tasting. Trip of a Lifetime!

just returned from my second tour (Sole Terre) with Nada's Italy last week. Just like the first tour, I took three years ago (Jewels of Amalfi Coast) it was the trip of a lifetime and exceeded my expectations over and over. Nada's approach to small group tours and itinerary content is spot on. Every day was an over the top adventure and I felt blessed to be along for the ride making memories and lifelong friends all at the same time. The food was unbelievably good and all restaurant selections are keepers (only gained 2lbs...not sure how I got that lucky). Our tour leader Alice was precious and made it so special with her genuine passion for her Italian heritage and immense knowledge. I don't think there was a single question raised by one of the group that she was not able to answer. She was fun, organized, warm, humorous, tolerant, and patient. Alice is a true asset to the Nada's Italy team. After having such a wonderful vacation it has been hard to return to real life. Till next time.......thanks for everything!

Wonderful Memories!

I just returned from my second Nada's Italy tour in Oct. Three years ago I went on Jewels of the Amalfi Coast and last month I went on Sole Terra. Just like my first tour this recent experience far exceeded my expectations. Truly a magical trip in all ways. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful company this is and how much thought, effort, planning, professionalism, and passion goes into everything the Nada's Italy team touches. I have made special memories that will last a lifetime. If you want a great Italian adventure I HIGHLY recommend Nada's Italy Small Group Tours.

We Don't Do Tours!

My husband and I chose to join friends at the last minute on their booked trip of Nada's Sole Terra for 11 days. We were those people... we DON'T do tours. We are very independent and have traveled extensively throughout the world. Because of that, we were a little skeptical of being with an organized group and at the mercy of our travel guide's personality and direction. In the end, I would have to say, this was one of the most delightful and special trips we've ever taken. The group was small, our tour guide personable, attentive, patient and energetic. There were options every day to make personal choices. The small family restaurants were amazing. Each boutique hotel and inn became more and more incredible as the trip played out. We met real people, ate real food and enjoyed incredible time with like minded people. We already have in mind our next Nada's tour. She is the real deal and has curated a very special tour operation that we highly recommend.

Felt like guides and drivers were family!

Antonella and Michela (and our drivers) couldn't have done more to make our Sole Terra trip one we will always remember. The history, photo ops, local flavor, and friendship were only matched by the food and the wine!! Grazie!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation which was a once in a lifetime trip for us. We were able to meet new friends, stay in magnificent Villas with wonderful views of Tuscany. Experiencing the food and wine of Tuscany was a great adventure. I would highly recommend Nada's Solo Terra to my friends.

Best Trip Ever!

One of the beat trips my wife and I have ever been on. Our guide and drivers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The villas we stayed in were much better than we had anticipated and the food and wine was great. we went with 3 other couples that were friends of ours and Nada customized our events for us. Our guide, Alice, made sure that all of our needs were taken care of - from having white wine served at each meal for 1 guest to having the drivers bring a van to a stop to have our souvenirs stored so we did not have to carry them to dinner. I would highly recommend Nada fro your trip to Italy.

Magnificent Itinerary

If anyone is slightly thinking about taking any of the trips in Nada's Italy itineraries-do it! The chance to truly experience Italian culture, see the things you should see, eat foods indicative of the cities you are in, do activities that most tourists aren't even aware of, learn so much history and how it ties in with the culture and feel special by the manners and respect by the guides and drivers.--do it! This is our second trip with Nada's Italy and I wouldn't hesitate to take more. It is truly worth every penny and you will only go home with the greatest of memories and experiences that only locals can provide.
