We'll start in Florence, heading towards the Northern coast of Tuscany and Liguria, stopping in picturesque Lucca and then the world's most famous leaning tower in Pisa! You will be able to thoroughly enjoy the gorgeous cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean from Portovenere, a charming harbour dating back to the Roman era.
Explore the fascinating Cinque Terre, five fishing villages that have become a World Heritage protected site, and a legacy left by man's enduring spirit of adaptation and the strenuous reliance on nature for survival. Discover the spectacular bright-white marble quarries of Carrara, where the most internationally acclaimed and sought-after marble. Experience feudal life while visiting an ancient castle, now belonging to a local family. Savor the local traditional dishes through delightful meals and cooking classes.
Then on to the Southern
coast of Tuscany, land of the Etruscans, with enchanting sceneries overlooking romantic sunsets hiding between the silhouettes of the Tuscan archipelago islands. We'll discover the islands by boat with plenty of free time to enjoy the sites adorned with cypresses and junipers, amid sun-kissed fields and vineyards. Exhale as you indulge in some natural relaxation when we stop at the steaming sulfurous hot-springs in Southern Tuscany. The tour continues on to the lovely Tuscan countryside, the heart of the Chianti Classico. On our way back to Florence, we'll stop in the medieval ridgetop village of Radda, and culminate our day on a hilltop castle for an elegant luncheon, paired with fine local wines.
